Did you get what appeared to be a legal notice in the mail from your State Board Of Nursing? At the top of the page will have your State Board Of Nursing. Underneath their header, you will see your name, your license number and case number. This is what is known as a CONSENT ORDER or CONSENT DECREE. If you do not 100% agree with it, or if you have any questions at all, do not sign it! CALL ME FIRST. WHAT WAS OPERATION NIGHTINGALE?
On September 16, 2024, the biggest scam artist in the history of the Nursing profession was sentence to prison in Federal Court. It all started in when a student blew the whistle, and rightfully so, on Ejike Asiegbunam, age 55, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release, for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Judge Boardman also ordered Asiegbunam to forfeit $1,662,732 that Asiegbunam personally received as a result of the fraud.
He admitted to engaging in this practice from 2018 - 2023. He also recruited others to assist him. 19 schools were involved and so far 21 people have been arrested.

The scheme thus allowed individuals who had not completed the necessary coursework to apply for licensure and to practice as nurses. However, as I talk to people, I am finding that some nurses did put in the work. and were not involved in fraudulent purchasing.

WHAT SCHOOLS WERE INVOLVED?
Boards of Nursing everywhere have been ordered by the FBI to carefully investigate any individuals who went to the followig schools and take steps to rectify the situation and this is why you have this CONSENT order in your possession. These schools were all Florida based schools that branched out to other states via online courses. The schools in question are as follows:

WHAT IS A CONSENT ORDER?
A Consent Order, in this case, is a legally binding document where a nurse agrees to specific terms and conditions set by the State Board Of Nursing to resolve a potential wrong doing and / or terms agreed to by both parties to rectify a situation.
This agreement is drafted in writing and brought before a judge in a court of law.
The judge then approves the agreement then the agreement gets enforced.
The most important part of this document to you is the CONSENT Portion. that often states you were advised to seek counsel, you waive your right to an administrative proceeding, that you admit to the findings and you can not renew your right to practice nursing in that specific state.
The second most important part is the ORDER at the bottom of the consent. This is the part that may put a blemish on your career since a CONSENT order is a matter of Public record whether you did any wrong doing or not because you never know what the future holds and where life will take you.
